Let’s Go To The Show

At High Country Maine Coons, we believe that showing our cats in the show hall is one of the most valuable parts of a responsible breeding program. We proudly show with The International Cat Association (TICA) because it gives us the opportunity to have our cats evaluated by multiple judges against the written breed standard for the Maine Coon. While every breeder may have their own vision of beauty and type, the show hall provides an objective setting where structure, coat, balance, temperament, and overall breed quality are assessed by experienced judges. This helps us better understand the strengths of our cats, identify areas where we can improve, and make thoughtful breeding decisions with the future of the breed in mind.

Showing also reflects our commitment to preservation, education, and continual growth as breeders. The feedback we receive in the TICA show hall helps guide our program, but just as importantly, it keeps us connected to the broader cat fancy and to others who are passionate about protecting and improving this extraordinary breed. For us, showing is not simply about ribbons or titles—it is about accountability, learning, and ensuring that the cats we produce are beautiful examples of the Maine Coon in both type and temperament. It is one of the many ways we strive to preserve the integrity of the breed while producing healthy, well-socialized kittens for loving homes.
